Charlie Wray,

 

HMAS Perth survivor...

Defined by being a Japanese Prisoner-of-War on the infamous Burma

 

Railway after the 1942 sinking of his ship, the HMAS Perth in the Sunda

 

Strait, Charlie met Freemasons during his years in brutal captivity.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On his return to Australia at war's end

 

he wasted little time in joining the Craft.

 

Brisbane-born Charlie Wray got married, had several children

 

and lived the remainder of his life in Coorparoo,

 

a Brisbane Suburb. Charlie died in 2013.

 

This is Charlie Wray's story - one of courage and hope
